The Contraception Mandate is an Environmentalist Cause

By Ted Shoebat

It is not a coincidence that it is the Left who wish for contraception to be apart of universal medicare; it is they who embark on decreasing human population in order to rescue their precious mother earth. The advocacy for birth control is an advocacy for an environmental cause, which esteems human life as not as important as those of animals. It has been reported that by August first, under this government edict, all health plans will be mandated to cover birth control payments, and that non-profit employers will be, regardless to religious belief, required to comply, and therefore provide coverage for contraption, by August first, 2013.

We hear constantly that the United States has a separation of Church and State, and we should make sure that the views on human life which the Left upholds, should as well be prevented from being pushed upon free citizens. How can one be free, if he must comply with a government’s demand for all to pay to support one’s lifestyle?

It cannot go unignored that the enforcement of paying for contraception is based on an environmentalist cause, and is thus metaphysical.

The whole plan is entirely exalted by the progressives, and it is in whole-hearted agreement with the environmentalist views which they uphold. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton affirmed in 2010 that “You cannot have maternal health without reproductive health, and that includes contraception and family planning and access to legal, safe abortions.” Clinton also doesn’t believes that “government should be involved in these decisions,” and that “it is perfectly legitimate for people to hold their own personal views based on conscience, religion or any other basis.” Yet, for contraception, she is all for pushing government control on individual citizens who do not accept her world-view on human life.

It was also stated by this same Clinton that she “will vote to ratify the Kyoto Protocol to bring all nations together to address global warming and build a better future for us all.”

The prophet of the cause of Global Warming, Al Gore, would agree all too well in population reduction by use of contraception. Gore had once stated that “If we do a really great job on new vaccines, healthcare, reproductive health services, we could lower [the population] by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.”

On March 8, 2010, Hillary Clinton gave her remarks on the 15th anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development, in which she gave her praise that “This year, the United States renewed funding of reproductive healthcare through the United Nations Population Fund, and more funding is on the way. (Applause.) The U.S. Congress recently appropriated more than $648 million in foreign assistance to family planning and reproductive health programs worldwide.”

In 2009, the United Nations Population Fund had issued a statement that “Women with access to reproductive health services … have lower fertility rates that contribute to slower growth in greenhouse gas emissions”, and that “As the growth of population, economies and consumption outpaces the Earth’s capacity to adjust, climate change could become much more extreme and conceivably catastrophic”.

The edict which the Obama administration wishes to enforce is unconstitutional because it not only demands that citizens pay for the contraception of others, but it as well appeases another religious group: the environmentalists.
