All American Muslim Imam Husham Al-Husainy chimes in on Murdered Iraqi woman

Can you say political opportunism? This is a follow-up to the story about an Iraqi woman named Shaima Alwadi who had been beaten in her own home to the point of dying from the injuries days later. A threatening note was reportedly found next to the body that said, “go back to your country you terrorist.” Why would a killer tell his dead victim to go to back to her country if she’s dead? Granted, Alwadi died a few days later but for all the killer knew, she was either dead or would die within minutes of the placement of the note.

While we’re not drawing any conclusions here, one very important element must be taken under consideration as the investigation unfolds. Since this family is Muslim, an honor killing must not be ruled out until it can be proven that one didn’t take place. Providing even extra incentive to keep this possibility on the table is CAIR’s relationship with the family. As we wrote here, CAIR defended the parents of seventeen year-old Rifqa Bary when there was significant reason to believe she would be killed for converting to Christianity if she was forced to live with her parents.

CAIR is also not the only party coming to the defense of Shaima Alwadi’s family. So is none other than All American Muslim star made infamous by the Lowe’s controversy last year, Imam Husham Al-Husainy, who we wrote about here.

Via IOL News:

Alawadi’s father is Sayed Nabeel Alawadi, a Shi’a cleric in Iraq, a Muslim leader in Michigan told the Detroit Free Press on Sunday. “Everybody is outraged,” Imam Husham Al-Husainy of the Karbalaa Islamic Education Centre in Dearborn said. “This is too evil, too criminal.”

Of course, the usual cast of CAIR characters seem to be channeling notorious race-baiters, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton by comparing the death of this mother of five to the killing of Trayvon Martin.

Dawud Walid, executive director of CAIR’s Michigan chapter, said Alawadi’s death was a primary topic of conversation among speakers and attendees on Sunday evening at the organisation’s annual banquet in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn.

He and others compared her slaying to that of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed Florida teen shot by a neighbourhood watch volunteer and whose case has ignited racial tensions.

“Treyvon was black wearing a hoodie. Shaima was wearing a hijab,” Walid said. “It’s the same racist principle at play that killed both of these individuals.”

The individuals and entities who have come to the defense of Shaima Alwadi’s family aren’t doing the family any favors by doing so.
