Little India writer attacks Bachmann while defending Islamic Society of North America as ‘mainstream’

In an attempt to debunk the efforts of Reps. Bachmann, et. al., Little India writer Achal Mehra attempts to paint the group as being on par with Joe McCarthy (that’s become a common refrain among leftists on this issue). It consists of the usual baseless attacks over questions about Huma Abedin’s background with a bit of an added twist. Mehra’s attack on the congressmen over the letter they sent to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) IG should raise some eyebrows.

Via Little India:

In a similar letter to the inspector general of the Department of Homeland Security, they malign other Muslims, including Mohamed Magid, whose crime is that he is president of the Islamic Society of Northern America (ISNA), which is as mainstream a religious organization as any in the country, but which they dub as the “largest Muslim Brotherhood front in America.” They also accuse five Islamic members of a Working Group at Homeland Security of “appear(ing) to share their sympathy for Islamist causes.”

Mainstream? Well, ain’t that an interesting word choice for describing a Muslim Brotherhood group?

The ISNA was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial and was caught with its hand in the cookie jar thanks to a 1991 Muslim Brotherhood document that listed it as a like-minded group in North America that seeks the destruction of the United States from within.

If Mehra is willing to defend the ISNA, what does that say about his defense of Huma Abedin?

If your name is Michele Bachmann and you see attacks like this leveled against you, it should give you every confidence that you’re on the right track.

The profile of Huma defenders is becoming increasingly interesting.
