Some of you might remember this case from back in March. A woman from Iraq was found beaten to death in her San Diego home with a note that said, “go back to your country”. Her murder took place as the Trayvon Martin case was dominating the headlines. That was a case tailor-made for race hustlers like Al Sharpton who were doing all they could to make it a hate crime.
Those who suspected a fake hate crime set-up in the death of Shaima Alawadi are looking increasingly correct as Alawadi’s husband – Kassim Alhimidi has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Kassim Alhimidi, 48, was taken into custody Thursday after being called into the police station, said El Cajon Police Chief Jim Redman.
The killing of 32-year-old Shaima Alawadi drew international attention in March when the couple’s 17-year-old daughter told reporters that she found a note by her mother’s bludgeoned body that read: “Go back to your country, you terrorist.”
Redman said there were no other suspects. He declined to comment on the evidence or elaborate on a possible motive.
“Criminal investigations build, evidence builds, and you reach a point where you have enough evidence to move forward, and that’s what happened in this case,” he said.
Alhimidi went to Iraq for about two weeks to bury his wife and returned voluntarily, Redman said. Police did not try to prevent him from leaving the country because he was not a suspect at the time.
Interestingly, the head of CAIR San Diego – Hanif Mohebi – was identified as a “family friend” and said the following in a local television news report at the time:
“Definitely, we need to work with law enforcement to bring the murderer, the cold-blooded killer, to justice.”
We are still waiting to hear Mohebi’s reaction to this news. Though his chapter’s website doesn’t currently have a statement on the matter, it does have various links to stories about Islamophobia.
If killing someone because of race, religion or creed is a ‘hate crime’, what is it called when someone is killed to make it look like that person was killed for one of those reasons?
