CAIR New York goes after both U.S. Senators from New York (Democrats) for supporting Israel

Muslim Brotherhood groups in America have overwhelmingly found the Democratic Party to be the most welcoming party when it comes to the Muslim agenda in the United States. New York’s two U.S. Senators (Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand), who are both Democrats, are catching some flak from the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) for supporting Israel.

Via CAIR-NY Press Release:

Today the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) urged all people of conscience to call the offices of Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to demand they stop ignoring Palestinians while pandering to pro-Israel interests.

CAIR-NY sent an open letter to the Senate offices in response to a Senate Resolution (S. Res. 599) cosponsored and passed on November 16, 2012, which does not mention the Palestinian people. Instead the letter emphasizes unequivocal support for Israel’s military actions.

“We will no longer allow our elected officials to pander to special and political interests while ignoring the basic human rights that we promote as Americans, nor while ignoring the concerns of their American constituents,” said CAIR-NY Executive Director Muneer Awad.

Times like these always seem to warrant a timeless quote from Andrew McCarthy’s book, The Grand Jihad:

Revolutionaries of Islam and the Left make fast friends when there is common enemy to besiege. Leftists, however, are essentially nihilists whose hazy vision prioritizes power over what is to be done with power. They are biddable. Islamists, who have very settled convictions about what is to be done with power, are much less so. Even their compromises keep their long-term goals in their sights. Thus do Leftists consistently overrate their ability to control Islamists. Factoring the common denominator, power, out of the equation, something always beats nothing.”

That quote is tailor-made for the likes of Schumer and Gillibrand.
