Morsi on his Jews are ‘Apes and Pigs’ comment: I was taken out of context

Can you imagine calling an entire ethnic / religious group of people ‘apes and pigs’ and then having the gall to claim you were taken out of context? Imagine no more. Egypt’s president Mohamed Morsi did just that; the western media and a couple of RINOs appear to be giving him a pass.

Via the Daily Caller:

Morsi offered his “out-of-context” excuse during a Jan. 16 in a Cairo meeting with several U.S. Senators, including Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

“The president stressed they were taken from comments on the Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and stressed the need to put the remarks in the right context,” said an Egyptian government statement released after the meeting.

The Egyptian president “stressed his commitment to the principles he has always insisted on, including full respect for religions, freedom of faith and religious practices, especially the heavenly religions,” of Islam, Christianity and Judaism.

Speaking of McCain, long a proponent of supporting Muslim Brotherhood rebels in Libya and Syria decried Morsi’s virulently anti-Semitic comments but appeared to be more than willing to keep on whistling past the graveyard.

Despite the tiff, McCain told reporters the congressional delegation will push for an additional $480 million in assistance to help Egypt’s ailing economy.
