Update on Saudi suspect in Boston marathon bombing

We are currently in the process of investigating some things independently with respect to the alleged Saudi suspect in the Boston marathon bombings and will be posting facts as we get them so please keep checking back. We hope to have a name for you soon.

As for what is available publicly about the suspect…

A 5th floor apartment in Revere, MA was searched by federal authorities, who then exited the apartment with several bags containing obvious contents of interest.

There have also been reports that the suspect smelled of ‘gun powder’.

Via New York Post:

The sources said that, after the man was grabbed by police, he smelled of gunpowder and declared, “I thought there would be a second bomb.”

He also asked: “Did anyone die?”

Officials showed up at the Revere apartment at about 5:30 p.m. in unmarked vehicles, a resident of the building said. It’s on a street where the man had lived, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

About an hour later, more vehicles, carrying agents of the FBI, Homeland Security and ATF also descended on the site, along with firefighters and a bomb squad. They searched an apartment on the fifth floor.

Speaking of the New York Post, it reported yesterday afternoon on a Saudi suspect being in custody. Not long after that, a Boston police spokesperson attempted to debunk that report. In light of events since, it would appear the Post was correct.

Moreover, check out what ABC News has to say about the raid in Revere:

Overnight a tip about possible explosives led federal agents to search an apartment on the fifth floor of a building in the Boston suburb of Revere. Agents later told residents there was nothing to worry about, but the quick and overwhelming law enforcement response underscored the urgency of the FBI’s effort to track and stop the people responsible.

Nothing to worry about? If this is a Saudi, we have plenty to worry about.

If the materials carried out of the Revere apartment complex indeed came from a Saudi national’s apartment, it would stand to reason that we should expect a name to be released soon.

Tick, tock.
