Darrell Issa rips Obama, Werfel on ‘Phony Scandals’

During a discussion with the Republican Study Committee, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) went on a bit of a righteous rant in response to Barack Obama’s assertion that ‘phony scandals’ have served to take ‘Washington’s eye off the ball’. Issa’s comments focused on Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and the IRS scandals. To call the first two phony is a slap in the face to the parents of the dead victims. To call the IRS scandal ‘phony’ is downright scary.

Darrell Issa: Fed up

Darrell Issa: Fed up

Ever since Obama took office – and certainly after the House took the majority in 2010 – Issa has been like a salmon with bulldog DNA, fighting to get upstream even when so many of his Republican colleagues have turned around and taken the path of least resistance back to comfort zone pond.

On the eve of the August recess, Issa continued to hammer away.

Via Oversight:

One day later – the last day before the recess – Issa showed up at the House Government Operations Subcommittee hearing to grill IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel, who had been grilled for three hours one day earlier by the House Ways and Means Committee. It is clear that with Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and now the IRS scandal, Issa’s fuse is getting very short. Werfel knows that firsthand. If only we could throw the Malik Obama log onto Issa’s fire. He would surely explode… and Lois Lerner would sing like a canary.

This is absolutely a must-watch.
