Traitor Norquist Nervous; attacks Cruz on Liberal Radio

Grover Norquist – and at least one of his deputies – has gone out of his way to not just express disagreement with Ted Cruz’s ‘defund’ Obamacare strategy. Norquist has gone to the other side to do so, at a time when a lot of people have moved on from Cruz’s effort.

Norquist: Cruz has him nervous.

Norquist: Cruz has him nervous.

Via the Daily Beast (h/t Breitbart):

Grover Norquist, the founder of Americans for Tax Reform and mastermind of the group’s famous pledge to never raise taxes, continued his critique of Cruz, the freshman Texas senator who led the failed effort to defund Obamacare, in an interview Monday on Sirius XM’s Standup with Pete Dominick. Norquist said “I have never had a criticism of Ted Cruz’s strategy because I’ve never been able to find it.” {emphasis ours}

Here is the exchange between Norquist and Dominick:

For a supposed conservative firebrand who has been riding on Reagan’s coattails for more than two decades, is it not curious that said “conservative” would go on a far left-wing talk show to bad mouth a true conservative firebrand (as defined by the conservative base)? As we’ve written before, based on Norquist’s background, this very well may be less about simply disagreeing with Cruz and much more about fearing Cruz’s ability to unleash a movement that is a grave threat to Norquist.

Make no mistake; Norquist is hiding a treacherous past with the Muslim Brotherhood. He practically ushered them into the Bush White House in the days before and after the 9/11 attacks. He does NOT want that known by a significant percentage of the American people. Preventing Cruz from invigorating such a base is – or should be – a much greater concern for Norquist than whether Cruz did the right thing with his ‘defund’ strategy. The more successful Cruz is at doing so, the more danger Norquist is in because the odds of his aiding and abetting America’s enemies at critical times in our country’s recent history, will increase dramatically.

And Norquist is nervous about that. Very nervous.

Let’s go back to the Daily Beast article:

While many prominent Republicans found the Cruz strategy impracticable, the most vocal opposition came from those like John McCain who are part of the establishment wing of the party. Norquist has been the most vocal critic from the conservative base of the tactics used to force the shutdown, saying that Cruz and his allies were demanding “silver unicorns.” [emphasis ours}

Aside from RINO McCain and “conservative” Norquist both despising Cruz so much that it smacks of ‘thou doth protest too much’, what do the two men have in common?

Both have inexplicably defended the Muslim Brotherhood at every turn. McCain’s behavior over the last few years in this regard has been incredibly egregious.

Norquist and McCain: Love attacking Ted Cruz and defending the Muslim Brotherhood.

Norquist and McCain: Love attacking Ted Cruz and defending the Muslim Brotherhood.

Last year, McCain defended Huma Abedin and chastised Rep. Michele Bachmann for raising legitimate questions about her familial connections to groups that should be considered enemies of the United States. By defending Abedin, McCain was also defending her boss, Hillary Clinton. Norquist is married to a Palestinian Muslim woman named Samah Alrayyes, who also works for the U.S. Government:

Like Abedin, Alrayyes landed a job inside the US Government, working as a Public Affairs Specialist for Arab and Muslim outreach at the Bureau of Legislative and Public affairs at USAID – The Case FOR Islamophobia, p. 286-287.

You know what else both Norquist and McCain have in common?

A desire for comprehensive immigration reform. What would this do? It would marginalize the most politically educated cross-section of American voters and would tip the scales even further for the Democratic Party and the uninformed voters.
