Democrat Congressional Candidate comes to Defense of Mosque home to Al-Awlaki, attended by Fort Hood Jihadist

The Dar al Hijrah mosque once home to imam Anwar al-Awlaki and attended by Nidal Malik Hasan, that was commended by the Virginia State House recently, now has one of those House delegates coming to its defense. Alfonso Lopez, a Democrat who is also running for U.S. Congress is arguing that those who object to honoring the mosque, which was also attended by multiple 9/11 hijackers, are “ignorantly painting all Muslims with the same brush”.

By arguing that “all Muslims” are being painted with the same brush, Lopez is apparently conceding that al-Awlaki, Fort Hood jihadist Hasan, and the 9/11 hijackers who attended the mosque were in fact bad. Yet, when it comes to al-Awlaki and Hasan, Lopez is apparently nowhere to be found in demanding that the victims of the 2009 jihadist attack receive purple hearts and the benefits that come with being wounded in battle.

Lopez is doubling down on a despicable decision made by his State’s House; he has thrown his lot behind jihad. Not only does he support the honoring of this mosque but he is endorsing a “Petition Opposing Right-Wing Media Smears on Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center”. On his facebook page, Lopez referred to the objections to the mosque being honored as “fear mongering”.

Of course, Lopez weakly defends his indefensible position by making reference to the mosque’s “community assistance” to the tune of thousands of dollars. What Lopez conveniently ignores is the fact that if a mosque preaches hate and jihad, “community assistance” is quite the relative term, since all jihadist institutions require Zakat or compulsory charity.

On his campaign website, Lopez touts his support for Obama and time spent as an appointee for the Obama administration.

When Sir. Winston Churchill famously said, “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile hoping it will eat him last,” he was definitely talking about people like Lopez.
