Is The Emerging Caliph In Iraq The Antichrist?

By Walid Shoebat (Shoebat Exclusive)

Regarding Al-Baghdadi, who claimed the Islamic Caliphate in Iraq, who is he and is he the Antichrist? Does he fit the bill of the awaited Mahdi and the last Caliph of Islam?

I have had inquiries.

Ok, here is what we think. Al-Baghdadi was born in Samarra, a largely Sunni city north of Baghdad, in 1971 and is well educated. His nom de guerre is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi with a $10 million U.S. bounty on his head.

His real name is Ibrahim Awwad Ibrahim Ali al-Badri, but now has been changed to “Caliph Abdullah Ibrahim Ibn Awaad Ibn Ibrahim Ibn Ali Ibn Muhammad of Quraysh Al-Baghdadi of the tribe of prophet Muhammad”.

The reason for adding “Abdallah” or “Abdullah” is to acquire one of the 99 names of the prophet of Islam since the prophecy by Muhammad is the coming of the Mahdi (the last Caliph) was promised by Muhammad to carry one of his names; Abdallah is one which means servant of Allah.

He must be from the lineage of Muhammad and is why they add “of Quraysh”, the tribe Muhammad belonged to, and that he stems from Ali, the husband of Muhammad’s daughter Fatima.

This is crucial to fit the bill.

The first and most often cited belief with regard to the Mahdi is the tradition which states that the Mahdi will descend from the family of Muhammad:

“The world will not come to pass until a man from among my family, whose name will be my name, rules over the Arabs.” (Ibn Kathir’s Tafsir -Surah 3:28)

“The Prophet said: The Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of Fatimah [one of Muhammad’s wives].” (Al-Sirah al-Halabiyyah, v3, p61)

the Mahdi (the Islamic Messiah) is expected to imitate Muhammad, carry some of his names, and in a way is his spirit returning back. The Mahdi, during the seven years of peace proclaimed in Islam, will re-distribute among his followers, the seized property and wealth of the nations that he defeats and Al-Baghdadi is definitely doing much looting:

“In those years (the time of the Mahdi) my community will enjoy a time of happiness such as they have never experienced before. Heaven will send rain upon them in torrents, the earth will not withhold any of its plants, and wealth will be available to all. A man will stand and say, ‘Give to me Mahdi!’ and he will say, ‘Take.’” (Al-Tabarani, Related by Abu Hurayra, as quoted by Izzat and Arif. p. 9)

Islam teaches that the Mahdi…

“…will guide the people to a mountain in Syria from which he will bring out the volumes of the [true] Torah [Jewish Tannach] to refute the Jews.”

Al-Baghdadi definitely established himself in several areas in Syria.

Several years ago, we wrote in our book God’s War on Terror (Page 143, 178) predicting about the Black Flags and today we see them in Iraq led by Caliph Al-Baghdadi. The Islamic State today promotes these “Black Flags” for a reason in order to fulfill these prophecies.

Al-Baghdadi still has some gaps in fulfilling the mandates by Islam’s prophet. There are still some ‘minor changes’ to finagle. Even the so-called “moderate” Sufi Sheikh Hisham Kabbani, the darling of many even conservative Americans, states that the armies will come from the region of Iran and Turkey:

“Hadith indicate that black flags coming from the area of Khorasan [Iran] will signify [that] the appearance of the Mahdi is near. Khorasan is in today’s Iran, and some scholars have said that this Hadith means when the black flags appear from Central Asia then the appearance of the Mahdi is imminent.”

Islamic prophetic tradition says:

“Armies carrying black flags will come from Khurasan (Iran). No power will be able to stop them and they will finally reach Eela (Baitul Maqdas in Jerusalem) where they will erect their flags.” Baitul Maqdas or “the holy house” is referring to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.”

Can Al-Baghdadi reach Jerusalem? Not anytime soon.

In the last days these black flags will accompany the Mahdi who will lead both Turkey and Iran and it is said by the prophet of Islam that “every Muslim must join this army even if they have to crawl on snow”.

Caliph Al-Baghdadi wants to wage a war on Jordan for a reason. He wants to approach Israel from the east. Abdul Rahman al-Wahabi in the The Day of Wrath states:

“The final battle will be waged by Muslim faithful coming on the backs of horses…carrying black banners. They will stand on the East side of the Jordan River and will wage war that the earth has never seen before. The true Messiah who is the Islamic Mahdi will defeat Europe, will lead this army of Seljuks [Turks]. He will preside over the world from Jerusalem because Mecca would have been destroyed.”

Interestingly, a tweet claimed to be from Al-Maqdisi of the ISIS spoke of destroying Mecca. In order for the prophecies to all fit, the Muslims will and must self-fulfill them, that includes the destruction of Mecca. And this is precisely what John the Prophet predicted, that the beast will destroy the harlot city.

They have this dream of a Mahdi like Saladin will lead this army to Israel and re-conquer it for Islam. The Jews will be slaughtered until very few remain and Jerusalem will become the location of the Mahdi’s rule over the Earth.

Al-Baghdadi presents a major threat to the U.S., he spent five years as prisoner of the Americans in Bocca Camp in southern Iraq between 2005 and 2009.

On 16 June 2014, reports circulated that the leader of ISIL Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi upon his release from U.S. detention facility Camp Bucca in 2009 had issued a threat, allegedly saying, “I’ll see you in New York”. American intelligence analysts began to monitor the splinter group for direct 9/11-type threats to the United States.

Throughout the history of the organization now known as ISIL (or ISIS), the group has used many different names. When it was formed in 2004, it was known as Jama’at al- Tawhid wal-Jihad, “The Organization of Monotheism and Jihad” (JTJ).

Later that year, when the leadership of the organization pledged a loyalty pact to Osama Bin Laden, the group changed its name to Tanzim Qaidat al-Jihad fi Bilad al- Rafidayn, “The Organization of Jihad’s Base in the Country of the Two Rivers” (TQJBR), and was often referred to as “Al-Qaeda in Iraq” (AQI). AQI was not a name the group ever chose for itself, but it has been the one that was most used to describe the organization, considering its multiple name changes.

In early 2006, after a series of alliances, the name changed again to the Mujahideen Shura Council. Later that year, after a merger with a few major militant groups in Iraq, the group changed its name again to Hilf al-Mutayibeen, “Oath of the Scented Ones”. Just one day later, the group underwent another name change and became Dawlat al- ‘Iraq al-Islamiyya, “Islamic State of Iraq” (ISI), bringing it closer to its current iteration.

After engaging in militant activities in Syria, in early 2013 ISI lengthened its name and became, The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (alternatively translated as Islamic الدولة الاسلامية في العراق :State in Iraq and Syria or Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham) (Arabic ‎dāʿ iš). It is abbreviatedداعش :‎; ʾ ad-dawla ʾ al-islāmiyya fīl-‘irāq waš-šām or Arabicوالشام as ISIS or alternately ISIL.

So, in general, an Islamic Caliph does match the biblical mandate for Antichrist. Antichrist is called “The Prince who is to come” in Daniel 9 and the Caliph has the title “The Prince of the Faithful”. But I always get asked: In the Bible, the Antichrist claims to take his position as God in the Temple of God. How would a Caliph fit such a bill, especially since Muslims deny the worship of another man?

Again, it would be helpful for westerners to study the 99 names of Muhammad. He, as the Mahdi (the last Caliph) will also be “Perfect”, “First”, “Last”, “Prince”, and “Glowing Lamp”, “Radiant”, “Pure”, “Chosen”, “healer” and “The Messenger of the Battles of The Last Days”.

Islam is filled with disclaimers like “we do not worship except Allah” while they deify Muhammad and the Mahdi giving them the titles:

Al-Maqam-Al-Mahmud (The Glorious One), Awal-Khalq-illah (The first of Creation), Muhammad (The Praised One), Al-Insan Al-Kamel (The Perfect Man), Rahmatan-lil-A’alameen (Mercy to All Mankind), Al-rasul Al-A’tham (The Greatest of All sent by God), Shafi (Healer), Munji (Savior), Mahdi (The Guided One/Deliverer), Al-Mustafa Al-Mukhtar (The Chosen One), Amir (The Prince), Khatimun-Nabiyeen (The Seal of Prophets), Al-Hadi (The Guide), Awal (First), Akher (Last), Sayyid Walad Adam (The Leader of The Sons of Adam) and Al-Siraj Al-Muneer (The Luminous One, The Glowing Lamp).

These are titles that definitely is deserved by God (Jesus) and not man. While Islam denies they worship a man, fact is, indeed they do, for they attribute to Muhammad and the Mahdi such titles which are blasphemy.

Whether Al-Baghdadi will gain prominence to be given allegiance by the Muslim world is doubtful at the moment and remains to be seen, but we can see the writing on the wall, the Islamists are seeking to make Al-Baghdadi fit the bill as written in their prophecies.

In conclusion, Al-Baghdadi is not the right fit. First of all, he is Wahhabist. Far from Wahhabism, a Sufi Caliph as since the last Caliph was Sufi and the Ottomans held the position. A Sufi is the best fitting, not only that because it teaches tremendous violence since it was the Sufis who are the muscle and sinew of the faith advancing it to become the world’s second-largest religion. Sufis are not simply a sect of Islam, but rather heirs of an ancient mystical tradition within both the Sunni and Shia branches of the faith combining their inward quest with war and expansion worldwide.

Sufism is also the ecumenical force in which it is the best uniting factor between Shiite and Sunni Muslims which eventually will unite Turkey (Sunni Sufi) with Iran (Shiite Sufi). Sunni Sufis adore Shiite icons like Hassan and Hussein and Ali who are denounced by Sunni Wahhabists.

The Wahhabist will become toast as Mecca will be destroyed, and both Iran and Turkey have some old scores to settle with Wahhabist Saudi Arabia, the Harlot.
