Applying John Kerry’s 1971 Vietnam Testimony to ISIS

“We rationalized destroying villages in order to save them. We saw America lose her sense of morality.” – John Kerry, 1971

In 1971 Senate testimony, John Kerry relied on hearsay and rumor to make slanderous claims against his own soldiers, many of whom were still at war in Vietnam. In 2014, with irrefutable evidence of mass genocide taking place in Iraq and all across the Middle East, he sees “warning signs of genocide”.

The militants’ “campaign of terror against the innocent, including the Yazidi and Christian minorities, and its grotesque targeted acts of violence show all the warning signs of genocide,” Kerry said Friday during a televised press conference in Kabul, Afghanistan. “The stakes for Iraq’s future could not be more clear,” and “for anyone who (needs) a wake-up call, this is it.”

Despite being able to confirm that Iraq and Syria has become home to the same atrocities Kerry testified were being perpetrated by U.S. soldiers in Vietnam based on hearsay, Kerry is not willing to go as far as he did against his own country while talking about…

“…crimes committed on a day to day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command. They told the stories of times that they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Kahn…”

In the fighting between Israel and Hamas, Kerry attempted to get Hamas allies Turkey and Qatar (terrorist states) to negotiate a truce. In reality, Hamas represents exactly what ISIS does. Yet, Kerry continues to argue on behalf of moral equivalency when it comes to Israel.

The savages that are slaughtering people in Iraq by the thousands are no different than Hamas. The only thing that separates the two is that Israel has been defending itself against Hamas while the people of Iraq of been unable to do so.

Perhaps Mr. Kerry could demand an ISIS “ceasefire” or give a speech that includes likening ISIS to “Jenjis Khan” and see how that works out.

If only he spoke like this about ISIS:
