In 2006, former CIA Director James Woolsey gave a speech in which he seemed to strongly imply that rogue regimes in the Middle East should be overthrown. The strategy expressed a desire to make the Hosni Mubarak regime and the Saudi Royal family ‘nervous’ by the U.S. turning its attention to Syria, Libya, and elsewhere.
In 2014, there is a trial taking place in Egypt, though you’d never know it. That 2006 speech by Woolsey has been introduced as evidence in the trial of Mubarak.
The underlying theme of the trial seems to be a case being made against the Obama administration. Testimony by Mubarak administration officials is that the Obama administration had a direct hand in the 2011 revolution in Egypt. In reality, according to testimony, it wasn’t a revolution at all but a conspiracy.
A twist to Woolsey’s plan to make Mubarak ‘nervous’ could actually have been to take it a step further and assist the Muslim Brotherhood in having him removed. That leads to the testimony against U.S. Ambassador to Egypt at the time Anne Patterson specifically and the U.S. embassy in particular.
On January 28, 2011, the U.S. Embassy reported several diplomatic vehicles had been stolen from the embassy. At least one of those vehicles was used to mow people down in the streets. The circumstances surrounding the ‘theft’ of those vehicles are indeed suspicious.
How did it happen? Who was on duty? Is there surveillance footage? Has there been an investigation? Who was held accountable?
Moreover, there has been a concerted effort by both mainstream and conservative media to ignore, suppress, or otherwise diminish an Egyptian connection to the Benghazi attacks under the reign of Mohammed Mursi.
