CNN Ignores ISIS Sign on Streets of Ferguson

While reporting on the protests / riots in Ferguson, MO CNN’s Jake Tapper spent two minutes on camera walking and talking with one of those protesters. As Tapper was speaking with a black man who had some controversial language on his clothing, he entirely missed a much bigger story.

Walking directly behind Tapper was someone holding up a sign that said “ISIS is Here”, a reference to the extremist Muslim group in Syria and Iraq that has been committing genocide and mass beheadings.

Some might argue that Tapper may not have seen the ISIS supporter immediately over his shoulder. Assuming that’s true, why did no one back at the CNN studio speak into Tapper’s earpiece and tell him? Obviously, the much more significant story than what was on the black man’s shirt was what was on the sign behind both he and Tapper.

Some additional irony occurred at the end of the clip, when Tapper proudly proclaimed that there’s…

“…no tear gas, no rubber bullets, no shotgun sells, just a lot of conversation and chanting… Don, back to you.”

Uh… Jake… How about that “ISIS is here” sign over your shoulder?
