It should be clear that ISIS is a greater threat to America than is Bashar al-Assad at the moment. Say what you will, Assad’s troops are not beheading Americans and putting it up on YouTube. As such, wouldn’t any ‘moderate’ rebels the likes of Senator John McCain are behind have the same priority list?
Uh, no. The laundry list of examples that should more than prove the FSA and ISIS is really nothing more than a game of good cop / bad cop continues to grow.
Syrian rebels and jihadists from the Islamic State have agreed to a non-aggression pact for the first time in a suburb of the capital Damascus, a monitoring group said on Friday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the ceasefire deal was agreed between IS and moderate and Islamist rebels in Hajar al-Aswad, south of the capital.
Under the deal, “the two parties will respect a truce until a final solution is found and they promise not to attack each other because they consider the principal enemy to be the Nussayri regime.”
Nussayri is a pejorative term for the Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam to which President Bashar al-Assad belongs.
So, as the U.S. fights ISIS while Barack Obama insists the group is ‘not Islamic’, the ‘moderate’ rebels who apparently are Islamic will be fighting alongside the non-Islamic Islamic State / ISIS / ISIL / Da’ish.
Or, as Walid wrote about the west’s strategy as laid out in Obama’s speech…
“Aid Moderates” Who Want To “Kill Bashar” Who Is Already Trying To “Kill ISIS” And Lets Hope That Bashar’s “Moderate” Killers In The End “Kills ISIS”.
Now it’s all but academic that any aiding of moderates will be aiding ISIS.
Are we all to believe that our government officials don’t know this? Of course they do.
So what gives? As is the case in nearly every highly suspicious circumstance, follow the money. As the New York Times reported last week, the nation state of Qatar, which supports the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas while harboring terrorists, is heavily invested in the success of Syria’s rebels. It is also throwing gobs of money at the Brookings Institute, perhaps the most prominent think tank in the U.S.
Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) is already taking notice of this extremely unsavory alliance.
As Shoebat.com has reported, the Brookings / Qatar partnership is consummated anew each year in Doha, Qatar in the form of the U.S.-Islamic World Forum (US-IWF). Politicians who have sidled up to this forum the most include Senator John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry. It’s worth noting again that both Hillary and McCain were featured in the promotional video for the rollout of Al-Jazeera America last year. Al-Jazeera is a Muslim Brotherhood propaganda network run by the government of Qatar out of Doha.
That doesn’t even include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, whose Vice-President David Chavern traveled to Doha in 2010 for that forum to sign into existence the American Chamber of Commerce in Qatar (AmCham Qatar).
At this year’s US-IWF, disgraced (but promoted anyway) former U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson delivered the keynote speech. During her time in Egypt, Patterson was suspiciously very supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood there.
