In Hamid Karzai’s farewell speech, he said that America never really invaded Afghanistan to bring peace to the region:
If America and Pakistan really want it, peace will come to Afghanistan… War in Afghanistan is based on the aims of foreigners. The war in Afghanistan is to the benefit of foreigners. But Afghans on both sides are the sacrificial lambs and victims of this war.
Karzai is full of it. While America and the West did have their own political goals when it came to Afghanistan, Karzai did not want peace. When an Afghan Muslim named Said Musa converted to Christianity, it was the Karzai government that arrested him and threatened him with execution back in 2011. If it wasn’t for the USA, Italy, Germany and France, Musa would have been killed by Karzai and his regime.
Karzai does not want peace, he wants Sharia law.
