One Day After Insisting Iran Will NOT be allowed to have a Nuclear Weapon, Secretary of State says He doesn’t Know if Secret Nuclear Facility in Iran is Nuclear

One day after pledging to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that Iran will not be permitted to acquire a nuclear weapon, Secretary of State John Kerry appeared in front of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. During an exchange with Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, Kerry was asked if he was aware of a secret Iranian nuclear facility, the details of which had been leaked this week by an Iranian opposition group. In a revealing answer, Kerry said the administration was aware of the facility but that it had not been determined to be nuclear.

“What you’re saying is it’s a nuclear facility. That is yet to be determined, but we know about the facility, yes.”

“So had the Mullahs disclosed that facility to us?” Rohrabacher asked.

“It has not been revealed yet as a nuclear facility. It is a facility that we are aware of, which is on a list of facilities we have. I’m not going to go into greater detail, but these things are going to have to be resolved [in negotiations] as we go forward.”

The secret nuclear facility that Rohrabacher was referring to, as Shoebat.com reported, is one identified by an Iranian opposition group known as the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). NCRI is the political arm of the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (MEK) and was in Washington, DC to reveal its findings. In a statement, the NCRI said in part:

“Despite the Iranian regime’s claims that all of its enrichment activities are transparent and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has in fact been engaged in research and development with advanced centrifuges at a secret nuclear site called Lavizan-3, in a military base in northeast Tehran suburbs.”

Kerry’s knowledge of the facility’s existence, coupled with his uncertainty about it is poses a bit of a problem in light of his comments a day earlier. In sworn testimony before the Senate Committee, Kerry said:

“I can’t state this more firmly. The policy is Iran will not get a nuclear weapon.”

How can that policy be believed if Kerry doesn’t know whether the secret facility revealed publicly by NCRI as being nuclear is actually a nuclear facility?

This panel discussion on Fox News Special Report underscores the absurdity of Kerry’s claims:
