The rally got so emotional that protestors began to throw stones at police officers, a violent clash ensued and 100 people were arrested by the authorities. Ahaza Kassaye, the mother of one of the Ethiopians beheaded, identified as Eyasu Yikunoamlak, said that she was quite taken by the passionate response of the Ethiopian people:

I’m happy now. I’m very happy. I was just mourning the death of my son with family members and my neighbors. I never expected this to happen

She also said that she hopes that the government will react to the killings by blocking the borders and preventing the illegal immigration and arresting human traffickers.

We must help save our persecuted brethren. Do not be a useless and lazy servant, but be an active one.
