In another act of savagery, ISIS terrorists kidnapped 300 Iraqi policemen and viciously beheaded them before throwing their bodies into a mass grave that was just discovered by Iraqi Security Forces:
A mass grave discovered near Mosul by Iraqi Security Forces 10 days ago most likely contains the bodies of at least 300 beheaded former local police officers executed by Islamic State, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said in a statement on Thursday.
“The bodies in the grave … appeared to be of men killed in custody,” the statement said.
HRW cited witnesses as saying they believe that at the end of October, Islamic State massacred several hundred former policemen they had been holding as prisoners.
“[Islamic State] should be held accountable for these crimes against humanity,” said Joe Stork, deputy Middle East Director at HRW.
The grave was found on the grounds of the agricultural college in Hammam al-Alil, 15 kilometres south of Mosul.
On October 17, Iraqi forces, backed by US-led airpower, started a long-awaited offensive to retake Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city.(source)
