Germany just took another step towards provoking a horrible war with Russia as it moved more troops into the Baltic States of Estonia and Lithuania:
Three weeks after the “largest US military deployment into Eastern Europe since the cold war“, consisting of thousands of tanks and troops under a planned NATO operation to “reassure the alliance’s Eastern European allies”, on Tuesday Germany started the deployment of tanks to Lithuania as part of the same NATO mission meant to “bolster confidence” in the face of what NATO member states call “Russian aggression.”
Germany is one of the countries that agreed to provide troops and weapons for the NATO mission, which involves deploying four battalions in Poland and the three Baltic states.
According to Reuters, the German army command said it was sending about 200 vehicles, including 30 tanks, by train to Lithuania along with 450 troops, the first of whom arrived last week. The transports would continue until late February. Seven decades after the end of World War Two, the movement of German troops to eastern Europe, even on a NATO mission, remains a sensitive issue both in Germany and the region. (source)
I did an extensive piece on this before (reprinted below). In short, the Baltic States have always been a hot point of contention between Germany and Russia as both empires have laid claim to them going back to Medieval times. The tensions of old never died away- they just changed form but kept their substance.
Relations right now between Germany and Russia are bad to the point of an impending war. All that needs for a war to start is the right trigger, and as I noted last year, a major NATO general said that a conflict between Germany and Russia in the Baltic States could be all that is needed to start such a war.

Earlier this year, a major NATO general advised that World War III would start in May 2017 over a conflict between the EU (Germany) and Russia over the Baltic States. Most of the controversy circulated around the placement of a large “missile defense” system conveniently situated in Riga, Latvia, which just under 11 hours by car from Moscow, or less than the distance from New York City to Chicago by car.
Notice how St. Petersburg is right to the north.
If Russia tried doing this in Mexico or Canada, America would rightly be very, very upset.
Likewise, Russia is not happy about this.
Two weeks ago, I warned about another major step in this buildup with Russia placing nuclear weapons in Konigsberg/Kaliningrad. It was never a secret they were always present there given the area’s historic military importance. However, the fact that the Russians are now openly acknowledging this is nothing more than boasting before a fight, and the long history between Germany and Russia there does not make the situation better.
If this could not get worse, it just did. America, Canada, Germany, and the UK are now planning “military exercises” respectively in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia:
Nine hundred US troops are to be sent to eastern Europe next year as America’s troubled relationship with Russia enters new, uncertain territory.
A US-led battle group of NATO allied soldiers will be sent to Poland as part of the multi-nation operation.
British forces will lead one of the four battle groups in Estonia, Canada will spearhead the presence in Latvia and Germany will be present in Lithuania.
There will be 4,000 allied soldiers deployed to the region in total.
The US battalion will include troops from the UK and Romania and deploy to Orzysz, north east Poland, in April.
Soldiers from the 3rd Squadron of 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, whose troops fought in both Iraq and Afghanistan, will lead the effort. (source)
The aggressive and dangerous nature of this act cannot be underestimated when we look at the situation through the lens of history.
First, and most obvious, these military exercises are happening in the Baltic states. As I pointed out in my previous article, the Baltic states have always been a hotly contested area between Germany and Russia going back to Medieval times. Whoever of the two puts troops in this area will inevitably aggravate the other, and given the aggressive talk lately, this is only going to escalate tensions between the EU/USA and Russia.
Second, as I noted in my previous article and one can see from looking on a map, all four of these nations literally surround Konigsberg/Kaliningrad. What you are witnessing is literally America and the EU surrounding a major Russian nuclear base and then playing wargames while making threats against Russia. I don’t care what nation you are- surrounding any nation’s nuclear weapon base, no matter how large or small that base may be, is asking for a fight.

Third, and a point that people would miss if they were not aware of Baltic history, is that Germany’s exercises are taking place in Lithuania. This is significant for the fact that Lithuania is a historically Polish ally and at times, territory. Latvia and Estonia historically allied with Germany, and this is why their people are historically Lutherans but Lithuanians are Catholics. The fact that Germany would even think of going into Lithuania, and given the fact that the US is conducting its operations in Orzysz, Poland, which is merely three hours from Kaliningrad, the harassment of Serbia that has been going on for years and combined with the American presence in Ukraine, this is sending a message to the Slavic people- the West owns you and will tell you what to do, and you, Russia, are next.
Orzysz, Poland to Kaliningrad, Russia. This is the distance from Boston, MA to Albany, NY. Again, conducting aggressive military exercises so close to another nation’s borders is a means to start conflict, not stop it.
Fourth, this comes at a time when the EU is placing troops in the northern regions of Norway, right on the border with Russia. Again, it is never a good idea to amass troops on the border of any nation unless you are looking for a fight. However, this in combination with the military exercises taking place in the Baltic states is only adding fuel to what is barely controlled fire at this point.
Fifth, notice these exercises are scheduled for April 2017. How interesting, especially when talk of World War III would begin in May 2017 per NATOs own assessment. Now while the future is unknown and can change, this hardly seems to be coincidental.
If you have eyes to see, ears to hear, and a brain to think with, connect the obvious dots. This is the makings of a war right now through outright provoking Russia. It is as immoral as it is a poor decision for obvious reasons, for it would provoke a nuclear response that would reshape the world as we know it. As I said earlier, there would be no winner in a nuclear confrontation, but America would emerge as the greater loser.
Keep close to Jesus and a few extra vessels of oil. Things are getting very dark in the West. Do not be caught without it.
