A man in Utah raped his daughter over and over again, and then took her to Planned Parenthood to have the child aborted in order to prevent anyone from knowing she was raped. As we read in one report on this very disturbing story:
Court documents say a 34-year-old man allegedly raped his 15-year-old stepdaughter repeatedly since September 2016. According to the report, the man would message the girl on Facebook, instructing her to tell her mother that she was going to the library. He would then take her to his home where he would rape her, the report said, and then take the teen back to her mother’s home.
The victim told police that the man threatened to hurt her and her family, according to the report, if she didn’t have sex with him. She eventually became pregnant.
She told police that the man took her to three Planned Parenthood clinics for an abortion, the report said. However, the Tribune noted, Utah law requires “a biological parent or guardian” to give a minor permission for an abortion and the clinics did not perform the procedure.
The teenage girl told police the man then gave her a drink to induce a miscarriage. Her mother later found the plastic bottle with the drink inside and called the police, telling them she believed her daughter had been a victim of rape.
According to the Tribune, the man admitted during an interview with police to raping the girl “once or twice a month for a year.” He also admitted to taking the victim to Planned Parenthood for an abortion and then giving her a drink to induce a miscarriage.
Court documents say the man sought an abortion for the victim “to hide what he had done.” They also say he “provided false information to the police in order to avoid prosecution for his conduct.”
The man has been charged with 12 counts of rape.
